Taking Shape operates holistically; the whole person is taken into consideration

(the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects). This includes developing physical and mental strength, emotional intelligence, spiritual awareness (awareness of self) and skills in movement and decision making

Founded by Kevin Stuart (CEO/Founder) in June 2013 - the development of Taking Shape is wholly motivated by Kevin’s  21 year experience practicing the art of Kung-Fu. Having misbehaved in his teens (truanting and the like), his way of life changed positively when he was taken under the wing of his martial arts teacher and taught Kung-Fu.  His experiences with this practice over the years sparked a desire for change which affected the course of his life and inevitably lead him to develop Taking Shape.

Whilst developing his own Kung-Fu and martial arts teaching skills, the positive impact he was having on children, teens and adults became evident.  As a direct result of this, he has continued to focus on teaching a range of martial arts, fitness and sports as well as become a personal trainer while incorporating his wealth of knowledge into a range of self-defence and confidence building classes/workshops.
